Hank grumbled under his breath, sending out a puff of white clouds. He hated winter. It was the season that had the most water, and therefore was the season where Team Aqua had the best advantage. He shouldn’t even be out in this weather. He should be in the base, sitting with his comrads around a roaring fire.

But no…

Hank, one of the highest ranking members in Team Magma, was babysitting two grunts as they walked from house to house, singing Christmas carols to people who probably didn’t care.
Why was he even here? Because the two had insisted on this insane Christmas tradition, and he was unfortunatly the only other one in the room when they had made their request to Maxie.
Another grumble. He liked the girls… He really did. They had nice singing voices, and were almost always cheerful. But they liked winter too much for his tastes.
He follows along behind, watching them go through their caroling books as Vanessa and Katelin walked down the sidewalk to the next house.
He had made sure that all of them wore civilian clothes, so as not to get the police called on them.  He still felt cold though.
The two grunts stop at another house and knock on the door. It opens and they start singing. Seeing that he wasn’t singing, the man in the doorway glances questiongly at Hank.

Hank snorts. He didn’t need to sing. Instead he watched the two girls. When the song was done, the man thanks them and closes the door. Almost immediately after they reach the sidewalk, the two girls turned to face him.
"You should be singing! That was the nineth person who was wondering why you werent joining in." Katelin says. Vanessa nods, her blond hair waving in a small breeze. "If you are going to walk around with us, you should sing."
Hank frowns. "Maxie never said anything about singing."
"He never said anything about not singing either." Katelin counters.

Touché…

"But.. I… I don’t sing well." He counters. Vanessa smirks. He was in trouble. "You sounded pretty good last night."
"Last… night?" Both he and Katelin look at her.
Vanessa chuckles at their expressions. "The Girl's and Guy's showers are only seperated by a wall. And a rather un-soundproof one at that."
Ouch… Hank made a note to remember that. The look in Katelin's blue eyes was all too curious. She tugs her polyester snow hat down, her short brown hair almost dissapearing beneath it.
It started to snow again.
Katelin sighs. "Just pick a song and we'll sing it at the next house. Ok? Just once won't hurt you."

Hank sighs too and takes out the caroling book from under his arm. Flipping through it, he finds a song that wasn’t that bad. "Let's sing Good King Wenceslas."
The two grunts nod. Together they walked to the next house and knocked on the door. An old lady opens it and smiles. "Carolers? What a nice surprise."
The two grunts smile. Hank tries his best to look cheerful. Then they start to sing.
The old lady claps as the finish, then opens the door wider. "That was wonderful! You should come in! I have fresh cookies cooling on the stove. Have some!"
The three thank her and step inside. It was warm inside, and there were decorations everywhere.

The lady motions them to a couch, and then heads to the kitchen.
Katelin, Vanessa and Hank sit down and smile at eachother. They werent expecting this.
Soon the lady returns with a platter full of different kinds of cookies and sets them down on the coffee table, then goes back to get cups for cider.
After setting them down next to the cookies, she sits down in a rocking chair and smiles. "Go on. Help yourself."
The Magma members thank her and take a cookie. Hank bites in to his and closes his eyes happily.

Maybe winter want so bad after all.
